These are the questions and discussion points that Megan brought up. We can ask ourselves these questions when we go through each chapter. (Especially holding each thought captive and praying to God about our fears, worries, and anxieties.)
Chapter One Discussion
Questions:
How
does the author define fear?
Would
you say fear, anxiety, and worry come up in your life? Do you find them to be habitual?
Would
you agree that fear, anxiety, and worry are sinful? What do they reveal about us?
How do
you deal with fear, anxiety, and worry?
As
we take a look at this book, let's be very discerning, holding every thought
captive to Christ as revealed in His Word.
Let's plan to intentionally focus not so much on the problem of fear,
worry, and anxiety in our lives, but to focus on Christ and His finished
work on the cross knowing that His perfect love casts out all fear.
Reminding
ourselves and each other:
Who is
Christ?
What
did He do?
How
does this relate to our fear, worry, and anxiety?
What
are some verses that come to mind that encourage you when you are fearful?
As a
church community, how can we be encouraging each other when tempted by fear (or
any other sin)?
